Using in Excel Spreadsheets
To use the IMS Geometric Tolerancing
Font in your Excel spreadsheets the IMS font must be installed on your
computer. Do this with the installation packages you download from this
web site.
1. First, the cells that you are going to
use to put the symbols in need to be set to use the IMS font. Highlight
the cells in the spreadsheet that you want to put the symbols in.
You can highlight the whole spreadsheet if you want.

2. Then go to Main Menu - Format - Cells.

3. Go to the Font tab. Choose the IMS font.

4. Now that the cells are set to the IMS font you can open the IMS
Wizard and choose some symbols. When you have what you want showing up
in the bottom box, press the "To Clipboard" button.

5. In Excel, highlight the cell you want to put it in.

6. Press the Paste button in Excel and it will be pasted in the cell.

Notice that the formula bar does not show the IMS font. This is not
important as long as it shows up in the cell. The Formula Bar font can
be changed by changing the default font settings in Tools - Options -
General.
Embedding in
Microsoft Word
In Microsoft Word it is possible to embed the font into a document so
the viewer of the document does not need to have the font installed on
his computer.
In Word, go to Main Menu - Tools - Options - Save tab. Check "Embed
True Type Fonts" and "Embed characters in use only".
This only works if you use the embeddable IMS font to make the
document.
